Who we are…

HIRELAND is a movement of business owners and students who are concerned about the human and economic cost of sky high unemployment. Hireland is an idea, a different way of thinking; a counter to negativity and fear. We want to create an injection of positive thinking about solutions rather than the enormity of the unemployment problem. We are developing a website where we will to try to inspire Irish businesses large, small and in between to pledge at least one new ‘back to work’ opportunity on the Hireland site or if that’s not possible to at least contribute ideas on how Irish enterprises could collectively alleviate the unemployment crisis. Everyone can help: This is a chance to get Ireland back on track and not just for those in a position to do the hiring. What each person does online and by word of mouth in support of Hireland encourages a new wave of confidence in our nations future. Hireland is a sister of our joint initiative uhireUS which was announced at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York in September 2011. Between our joint efforts we hope the movement will result in 1000,000 jobs created in America and 10,000 right here in Ireland.
